By this point of the season, we all know the players to watch, and what needs to be done to win the game. Let’s not waste any time and jump right in to this one.
The Dallas Stars
The expectations coming into the season were high for the Stars. All the new acquisitions, and a playoff appearance last year, had the Dallas faithful feeling good about this year. The season, for the most part, has been a struggle though. They had trouble finding their identity for seemingly the first three quarters, it feels like. They are finally starting to gain some momentum, but it’s too little too late at this point.

The Stars have gone 7-3-0 in their last ten, and are scoring a ton of goals in the process. They currently have 84 points, and sit 6 points behind Los Angeles for that final Wild Card spot. Unfortunately there are a couple of teams ahead of them that they need to pass before they can catch the Kings.
As far as those new acquisitions are concerned, they are doing fairly well this year. Jason Spezza is third on the team with total points and Ales Hemsky has been a consistent player for them. The Stars are still lead by their top players though in Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin (who both have over 70 points on the season). This team is loaded with offensive talent. If they can find a way to get into the playoffs, they are going to be a tough team to beat.
The Nashville Predators
They Predators have done a great job with scoring first in games as of late. Unfortunately for them, they have been giving up those leads as well. Let’s not keep the trend going.
Yeah, that’s pretty much all I got at this point of the season.
Reason To Watch
- We saw a couple of weeks ago what the Predators can do coming off of a three day rest. I expect that they are going to come out fast and aggressive. Not to mention that it is a Saturday night in Smashville. I anticipate that the crowd will be just as wild as it was on Tuesday night.
- James Neal and Shea Weber, while not confirmed for the game, could very well make their return from injury. It also might mean the return of the NeRF line that basically singlehandedly carried Nashville in the beinnging of the season.

I am going to change up the pace for this one. I suggest a Moscow Mule for tonight’s game.
