The St. Louis Blues

The Blues are sitting pretty at the top of the Central right now, with a six-point lead on Colorado. They’re also two points ahead of Anaheim (with a game in hand) for first in the league. All that’s left for them to do is punch their ticket to the postseason, and make a grab for their second President’s Trophy.

New(ish) goaltender Ryan Miller has been almost unbeatable since coming over from Buffalo. With just a single overtime loss since putting on the Blue Note, he has been everything that the organization thought he would be when he was acquired. Brian Elliot got the start on Sunday, so it seems likely Miller will be the one in net tonight. The Blues are probably looking to ride him into the playoffs and beyond.

The Nashville Predators

How about that win last night? That was fun, we should do it again. The Preds have had zero success against St. Louis this year, failing to get a single win and only recording one point against them. At this point in the season it would just feel good to get at least one win against a league behemoth.

Who made the March schedule, by the way? Four back-to-backs in one month, including three in a row? At least Carter Hutton is going to get to actually test out his Rinne impression, rather than just sitting on the bench. Hutton will no doubt get the nod tonight, and he’ll need to be on the top of his game. Nashville has been scoring a lot recently, but it would be unwise to automatically assume that will continue against the Blues. Not that it can’t continue, just… man, they’re good.

Game on at 7 p.m. CST, but be sure to join us in the game thread prior to the start.
