Preview: Nashville Predators vs. Florida Panthers 3/20/21: The Eternal Road Trip

Nashville Predators

Stop. I bet you didn’t know this fact:

(Unless you also saw it on Twitter.)

Is Järnkrok’s trade stock rising? He’s been part of a lot of success for the Predators, often in a bottom-six role. I’ll add that Järnkrok is one of my favorite players, but goal-scoring like this definitely raises his value if Nashville wanted to trade him. I’m not sure what kind of return they’d get, however. Järnkrok has 9 goals and 6 assists (15 points), good for third on the team’s points board. Also, Nashville “for sure” made the right decision by exposing James Neal in the expansion draft.

Juuse Saros looked much calmer after the first period last night. He wasn’t exactly “happy feet” in that he was moving too much in the net, but he seemed to settle after the first 20 minutes. Let’s be fair: that goal from Jonathan Huberdeau was incredible and not many goalies are going to stop that.

If you missed Thursday’s action, Ann’s recap is here.

Panthers head coach John Quenneville said this on Thursday after the game: “They’re playing better than we saw earlier in the year.” What do you think? Is it foolish to get excited over a win like this?

Florida Panthers

Well, aside from a slick goal from Jonathan Huberdeau, the Panthers were mostly frustrated and angry on Thursday night. Sergei Bobrovsky must not have been very happy after Calle Järnkrok’s second goal:

I’d expect a very angry and physical Panthers team today…perhaps even some willing to drop their gloves and fight.

The Panthers had a perfect penalty kill against Nashville on Thursday. Further, they allowed no power play goals from Chicago in their two-game series earlier in the week.

The Predators might see Chris Dreidger in net today.
