The New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings came out victorious in their respective Game 7s during an intense Wednesday night of Stanley Cup Playoffs action.
The Candiens swept Tampa Bay out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday night in Montreal, while in Detroit the Bruins took a 2-1 series lead over the Wings. The Rangers cruised in Philadelphia for a 2-1 lead as well.
Mikael Granlund's overtime goal put the Minnesota Wild on the board, while teammate Matt Cooke is facing a lengthy suspension. The Pittsburgh Penguins also rallied to take a 2-1 series lead over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
It took double overtime, but the Blue Jackets evened their series against Pittsburgh. Elsewhere, the Blues beat the Blackhawks in overtime for a 2-0 series lead and Avalance beat the Wild 4-2 for a 2-0 series advantage of their own.
