It’s that time of year again. Fall is here, leaves are changing, temperatures are dropping, and gaudy mustaches are in full bloom. Yes, On the Forecheck is once again participating in Movember. For those of you who have never heard of Movember, it is an annual fundraising event focused on men’s health, most notably in the form of funding research and treatment for Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, and mental health worldwide. Men are encouraged to grow mustaches to increase awareness for the cause during this time. Mustaches + November = Movember.
I’ve decided to get involved this year as a member of my family is currently battling prostate cancer. According to the Movember website, 1 out of 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. When we include the number of men diagnosed with testicular cancer or who are fighting mental health issues, all of us probably know someone struggling with these health issues. A donation could directly improve the quality of life of a family member or friend. In the very least, donating will improve men’s health around the world.
We have created a team page on the Movember website where you are encouraged to donate to our team or any team really. This year we’ve decided to add some excitement to our fundraising as some of us have decided to grow mustaches and show you all our tremendous progress.
