Pekka Rinne Leaves Game Against Canucks, Will Not Return

Pekka Rinne left Tuesday night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks after Chris Higgins slid into him and they each collided into the boards. After talking with the trainers and stretched near the bench, Rinne went down the tunnel, leaving us all to speculate about the worst possible scenarios. We didn’t get hopeful news as the game went on.

Crap.

The extent of the injury is unknown at this time. It could be something extremely precautionary, and the Predators want to keep their star net minder intact. Rinne has by far been the best player this season, and one of the biggest reasons they are where they are. Losing him for any period of time would be terrible for the team.

Stick around for updates when they become available.

Update at 10:06 p.m. CST

Rinne is now being listed as “day-to-day” and will be reevaluated Thursday. He was not made available for postgame interviews in the locker room.
