Per Elliotte Friedman, the Nashville Predators have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Yannick Weber:
Yannick Weber does go to NASH…I’m told he will not wear number 6. I can see this will disappoint those in my mentions.

The 27-year-old Swiss blue liner has been with the Vancouver Canucks for the past three seasons and had seven assists in in 45 games on a not so good Vancouver team a year ago. He averaged 18:50 of ice time per contest with the Canucks during the 2015-16 campaign. He held a Corsi For percentage of 48.7 percent and it is interesting to note that 56.9 percent of his zone starts came on the offensive zone (per Hockey Reference).
Weber is a right-handed shot and could very well be looking at the left-handed Anthonty Bitetto as his partner on the bottom pairing in Music City.
Weber and the Preds could have pulled off a nice little troll move if he put on the No. 6 sweater for Nashville (and Preds fans could still rock a Shea Weber jersey with no harm) but according to Freidman that won’t happen.
More to come when the details are released.
