Saturday’s Dump & Chase: Afternoon Games are the Best

Predators News & Notes

Admirals teammates, roommates bond despite language barriers | WISN
It’s nice to see Kamenev has a teammate like Murph to help him with the transition to North America. Hopefully we see them both in gold in a couple of years.

Predators prepare for heated wild card race | The Tennessean
If there was ever a good time to peak it is now; that is the positive for the Predators. The downside (if you want to call it that) is that they’ve still got a ways to go and can’t rest on their laurels if they want to get into the playoffs and be successful.

Predators wouldn’t trade their time with NHL’s latest to reach 1,000 games | Nashville Post
Fish belongs in Nashville. I agree with Poile when he says that he can stay as long as he wants.

The Penguins hilariously trolled Lundqvist on Twitter after he knocked his net off | Bar Down
This pretty funny but at the same time you’ve got an above-average goalie chirping the best goalie in the league. Something about that just heavily dampens the laugh-factor for me.

Coyotes rookie Max Domi suspended 1 game for fight | AZ Central
A chip off the old block this one is and I love it! OEL gets dumped on a “garbage hit” by Ryan Garbutt and Domi comes to the defense of his teammate. He’s a leader on the Coyotes team now and for years to come.

2016 NHL Draft Lottery Standings | TSN
I hope Arizona gets Matthews. That franchise shows up for good hockey and Matthews, OEL, Domi, Strome, and Duclair would set the league on fire. Columbus wouldn’t be a bad destination either. Us “small” markets have to stick together!

Connor McDavid and the great Calder Trophy debate | Yahoo Sports
A lot of people were talking about Panarin or Larkin winning the Calder when McDavid was out. Even with McJesus not playing for so long it just always seemed like he had the potential to come in, kill it, and reinsert his name into the running. He’s done just that.

With Lundqvist hurt, Rangers recall Hellberg on emergency basis | ProHockeyTalk
We know him!

Dion Phaneuf unsure how he’ll be received in return to ACC | Sports Net
I don’t know what it is but I just have to keep reminding myself he got traded to the Senators. When it happened I think we all were kind of caught off guard.

THN.com Roundtable: Which player scores the prettiest goals? | The Hockey News
McDavid, Alex Ovechkin, and Patrick Kane are included. It’s tough to decide between McDavid and Ovechkin (I could never put Kane in a positive light.) They are both very exciting players to watch and it’s hard to decide between McDavid’s speed and Ovechkin’s power and determination.

Jets’ Nikolaj Ehlers out indefinitely after taking puck to face | Sportsnet.ca
Tough break for Ehlers. He has had a solid rookie season and he’ll only get better as he puts on weight (he’s only listed as 176 pounds at the moment.)

FRIDAY’S SHOW (3/4/16) Sabres Hockey Hotline
Catch up on the latest from Kevin Sylvester and the Sabres Hockey Hotline crew, airing on weekdays from 10-Noon on WGR 550.

Canucks prospect report: Vancouver could soon be the next stop for Nikita Tryamkin | Metro News
Could the 6’8″ and 230 pound defensive defensemen be heading overseas to Vancouver?
