Fun Friday: Wacky trades the Predators could make – On the Forecheck
Our very own Eamon starts his weekly column called Fun Friday, and yesterday looked at implausible, but fun to imagine trades the Predators could make.  He’s got numbers and draft rankings from Eric, and personally, I’m a huge fan of trade number two.

Around the NHL

Stanley Cup Final schedule | NHLcom
The Stanley Cup Finals start tonight, and here’s the breakdown of the schedule.  Sure is cool that Games 2 and 3 are relegated to NBCSN, yup, two vitally important games that don’t warrant national television, sure.

Stamkos could return for Lightning during Stanley Cup Final against Stars | NHL.com
Steven Stamkos hasn’t even played in these playoffs, but could still make a possible return appearance for the Tampa Bay Lightning when they could need him most.  It’s incredible to think that the Bolts could get even more dangerous, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Five remaining NHL Awards to be announced before Game 2 of Cup Final | NHL.com
The 2020 NHL Awards will be shown on NBCSN prior to Game 2 on Monday at 5:30 pm Central, so join us as we likely end up very angry when Roman Josi gets second place to John Carlson for the Norris Trophy.

Koivu will not return to Wild next season | NHL.com
Mikko Koivu will not return to the Minnesota Wild next season.  It’s really crazy to think that we won’t be seeing him in a Wild sweater next season, but I’m sure he’ll get a short term deal somewhere looking for a veteran presence.

Pietrangelo expects to become free agent, could stay with Blues: report | NHL.com
Much like the reports regarding Mikael Granlund, Alex Pietrangelo is looking to test free agency but hasn’t ruled out returning to St. Louis.  I’d sure like to see him and the long-term, $8 million-plus contract he’s going to receive out of the Central Division.

Tweet of the Day

Yes, technically this is from Thursday night, but I’m still thinking about prospect Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and how important it is that Nashville drafts him.

Song of the Day

The song (and by extension, the album “It Is What It Is”) slaps, the video is insanely good, and it’s just a great song to kick off your weekend of Stanley Cup hockey, NFL action, and the handful of college football teams desperately trying to make things work.  Enjoy.
