Thursday’s Dump & Chase: ‘I’m ready for the funeral’

Nashville Predators News & Notes

One Nashville Predators free agent already has one foot out the door | A to Z Sports Nashville
Some people are going to wring their hands once Mikael Granlund walks (and he will walk), but what’s done is done. There’s no point in bringing him back, even if he wanted to (and I’d wager he doesn’t), because he’s likely going to want too much money and too much term, and the Preds have already given that away to too many other players in the same age window.

And let’s face it, he didn’t produce here. Was that his fault? No, probably not, but there’s literally no reason to bring back a guy who isn’t working here at the price Granlund’s going to want.

Source: Dan Hinote expected to join Predators as assistant coach | The Athletic
Sorry for linking a pay-walled article, but this is the only report on Dan Hinote replacing Dan Muse as of this writing.

For those who aren’t aware, Hinote was a member of the 2001 Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche, and most recently has served as associate coach for the U.S. National Under-17 Team.

Thursday Tunes

Look, Bryan can’t be the only person here sharing music. Here’s the song that inspired today’s title.

I’m admittedly not much of a country guy, like at all, but this Colter Wall fella rips (this is a good thing). Here’s a song from his new album. It’s a cover of an old Marty Robbins’ song that I first heard while playing the video game Fallout: New Vegas.
