Thursday’s Dump & Chase: ‘Remember To Breathe’

Nashville Predators News & Notes

Inside look at Nashville Predators | NHL.com
It was Nashville Predators day over at NHL.com, and they did their usual roster, prospect, and fantasy analysis of the team ahead of the upcoming (or is it?!?) season.

Come for the sad reminder of just how poorly several of the Preds key players under-performed last season. Stay for the boring platitudes from GM David Poile that are, I think, meant to create a sense of optimism before the upcoming season.

Here’s one:
“I think our team is going to be a harder team to play against with the type of guys that we’ve brought in,” Poile said. “I feel that we have probably more depth than we’ve had the last couple of years, which might have been a little bit of a problem for us. … I feel good from a defensive standpoint. I feel good about the physicality of our team, and our team will be a hard team to play against.”

Seattle Kraken staying patient with coaching search, GM Ron Francis says | ESPN
GM Ron Francis told ESPN on Tuesday that the Kraken “want to get a lay of the landscape” before picking their coach for the 2021-22 season.

This is a smart move. Why make a knee-jerk decision and hire the wrong coach now when you can wait and see who else becomes available? That’s how you end up with someone like, you know, John Hynes instead of Gerard Gallant.

‘Put him on the list’: Logan Paul agrees to bout with Sharks’ Evander Kane | Sportsnethttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAHenpGhCVA
The funniest thing about this whole ordeal is that Sportsnet doesn’t realize there’s two different Paul brothers.

I mean, it’s not like either of them are worth anyone’s time of day.. but it’s a slow news day. Hopefully one of them ends up fighting Evander Kane, though. Kane likely needs another infusion of cash to pay off that casino.
