A $2 million fine is nothing. It’s not even a drop in the bucket. It’s less than half of what the cap recapture penalty would be if Shea Weber retires early (which he essentially already has). It’s the same amount as a cap penalty on an early buyout of Kyle Turris’ contract. It’s something that the Blackhawks’ organization won’t feel at all. It’s feeble. It’s nothing.
