Nashville’s Roman Josi Selected for 2020 All-Star Game in St. Louis | On the Forecheck
Bryan has the write-up of Josi’s season so far and what he’s done to deserve an ASG appearance.

NHL All-Star Game rosters revealed | NHL.com
It’s not particularly egregious this year, though for whatever stupid reason they’re still inviting Patrick Kane and I really wish they’d stop; I haven’t watched the Central play in the 3v3 since the first year they did it when I determined that, nope, too gross, can’t do it.

Bergeron, Giroux, Toews highlight NHL All-Star Last Men In vote | ProHockeyTalk
The Predators’ nominee is Matt Duchene, but looking at that Central slate I don’t think he has a chance in the world and I’m also not, uh, completely sure why they picked him instead of Ryan Ellis or, and I can’t believe I’m typing this but this is the world we live in now apparently, Nick Bonino. Or Calle Jarnkrok, which I also can’t believe I’m typing!

Maybe if Brad Marchand could be trusted to behave in public he’d have gotten to be the Bruins’ [checks notes] THIRD nominee for the All-Star Game?

The Takeaway: End of the decade edition | The Ice Garden
That 2012-13 Gophers team was something else. Just…wow. I knew they were good, because I’d known Noora Räty is amazing, but…wow.

Penguins’ Sullivan: ‘No status’ on Guentzel after scary crash into boards | Sportsnet.ca
Awful news. I don’t know if there is a way to make the boards safer or if this is one of the things that is always going to be a danger of hockey, but I hope Guentzel is all right. At least the primary injury seems to have been to his arm; a lot of “scary crash[es] into boards” seem to involve players going headfirst.

USA defeat Russia in best game of 2020 World Junior Championship so far | Raw Charge
Lauren Kelly of Raw Charge is back again this year with her fantastic day-by-day recaps of the World Juniors; here’s the latest.

Tortorella says he regrets airing grievances; NHL defends official | Sportsnet.ca
His biggest mistake was clearly not doing it on Festivus.

Team USA’s All-Decade Team | The Ice Garden
Still hoping to see more All-Decade Teams from The Ice Garden, but for a start Mike Murphy takes a look at the best three forwards, two defenders, and…well, Team USA is weird about goalies.

Here’s hoping your 2019 ends well and that the next year, and the next decade, are fantastic for you!
