Tuesday’s Dump & Chase: “Major Press Conference”

Nashville Predators News and Notes

So let’s start with the big ol’ elephant in the room…

That “major press conference” will be broadcast live on Bally Sports South and their mobile app starting at 11 A.M. this morning.

The speculation from Adam Vingan regarding Rinne leaves me to believe there are two likely scenarios here: Pekka is coming back for one more year, or Pekka is retiring. That said, I find it extremely odd that Bally Sports would break into live programming for a one-year contract extension. It’s possible there could be a “one more year before I retire” announcement, but do you really see Rinne as the type of person who would want a farewell tour?

I’m strangely okay with either option. I’d love to have Pekka back for one last hurrah. But if this is it for him, our final memory of him is something straight out of a storybook.

We’ll have coverage when the announcement happens. Until then, let the speculation continue.
