Tuesdays Dump & Chase: The Youth, The Youth, The Youth Is On Fire

Hi all! Our apologies for a lack of a Monday Dump & Chase. The system we use to publish all the wonderful On The Forecheck content you love and enjoy crashed Sunday night, rendering us unable to post anything until late last night. It’s not like there was anything super dire that you missed, but still. We’ll make up for it with some A+ content this week!

Now, on to today’s links!

Nashville Predators News & Notes

Development Camp 2021: Prospects Aplenty | On The Forecheck

There’s not a ton of Preds news, so in case you missed it this weekend, Ann wrapped up her coverage of Development Camp by sharing some of her biggest takeaways. Some of her standouts you’d know and expect to… well… stand out. But a few “under the radar” guys caught her eye as well.

Speaking of prospects, keep an eye out for a new episode of the On The Forecheck Podcast dropping soon! We’ll go a little more in depth on the Preds childrens.

Predators Prospect Tomasino Should Be in the Opening Night Lineup | The Hockey Writers

Poile and company have historically been patient when it comes to their prospects, but it seems they’d like to give their 2019 1st rounder every possible opportunity to start the year in Nashville. If Tomasino earns a regular spot in the top nine, I’m all for it. If he’s going to be an extra forward or a limited minutes guy, I’d rather see him start with a top line role in Milwaukee.

Other Hockey Happenings

In Memory of Jimmy Hayes | BC Interruption
During the period where I really started getting into college hockey, Jimmy Hayes was one of the stars of that ungodly amazing Boston College team (that also featured the likes of Cam Atkinson, Brian Dumoulin, Chris Kreider, and Jimmy’s brother – Kevin). I always admired the passion he played with; His goal celebrations would put some NFLers to shame. By all accounts, he was beloved in every locker room he set foot in, was active in multiple charities, and always had a smile on his face.

From all of us at On The Forecheck, our love and support goes out to the Hayes family.

Kirill Kaprizov will not play in KHL next season | Hockey Wilderness
It looks like the KHL chatter wound up being a negotiating tactic for last season’s Calder Trophy winner.

Who is the Next Buffalo Sabres’ Franchise Goaltender? | Die By The Blade
The Sabres became one of the NHL’s best franchises in the late 90’s and early-to-mid 00’s on the backs of Dominik Hasek and Ryan Miller; So it’s not a surprise that their downfall has come in a decade where no one’s been able to lock up that #1 goalie spot.

Canucks confirm support of province’s proof of vaccination program | TSN.ca
I support whatever it takes to help us get back to normal.

Hilary Knight ties goal record; U.S. beats Finland 3-0 at women’s world hockey championship | ESPN
If you couldn’t stay up until B.F.E. o’clock on Monday morning to watch the U.S., you missed Hilary moving a step closer to G.O.A.T. status.
