A nice shoutout for Juuse Saros.
Prokop working toward NHL dream 2 years after coming out as gay
Luke Prokop is progressing on his path to becoming the first openly gay player in the NHL.
As much fun as it is to get Luke Prokop news, it can’t be easy for a prospect to have this degree of scrutiny while still being a prospect whose career path hasn’t been pretty much carved into stone–usually the “what do you hope to do in the NHL” questions go to top-three picks. I am a little doubtful he’ll make the Preds this season, because it feels like the org has a rough plan already, but I’d love to be wrong and I’d like to see him with the Ads regardless.

I’m always startled to realize Sam Gagner hasn’t retired yet.

The Capitals have promoted Brian MacLellan to president of hockey operations to go along with his general manager duties.
The Capitals are shuffling the organization.

The NFL’s Buffalo Bills and the NHL’s Sabres will operate as separate entities after the teams’ owner Terry Pegula dissolved their parent company on Monday.
So are the Sabres.
Early Details About New League’s Official Name and Cities
Ahead of a scheduled press conference, social media revealed hints of the new North American League’s official name and team locations
Disappointing, but not surprising and definitely smart–the new women’s league will have teams in Boston, New York (City, presumably), Minnesota, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. Personally, as a lover of chaos, I think it would be very funny if the Ottawa PWHL team won a cup before the Ottawa Senators.
