It’ll be weird, but we’ve been putting up with weird for nearly three months now. Just give us hockey, but give it to us in a way that allows folks to be safe, healthy, and without undue risk.

How does the AHL cancellation affect the NHL season going forward? | TheHockeyNews
I think Nashville will have a large complement of talented “black aces,” but for guys who are AHL veterans and those without NHL contracts, it’s probably a little disheartening.

Is it possible to have NHL hockey without AHL hockey? Where do pro players go if they aren’t on a NHL contract? Will clubs be able to have expanded rosters?

Yost: Which underachieving NHL teams could go on a run in expanded postseason? | TSN.ca
The extended break has not done anything except level the playing field. Injured players can rehab, players with rough seasons can mentally and physically reset, and there’s the likelihood that teams will have expanded rosters with some AHL talent.
