Predators Announce 2019-20 NHL Schedule; Home Opener Oct. 3 vs. Wild | NHL
The schedules are set! We’re a little over three months away from the 2019-2020 season. It’s already felt like six months since the Preds last played but that’s neither here nor there.

You can read Rachel’s highlights of the schedule here.

Dates of note from the 2019-20 NHL schedule | NBC Sports
All the other non-Preds related dates of interest are covered here—including some highly anticipated rematches, outdoor games, reunions, and oh yeah…that banner raising for that one team.

How will trading P.K. Subban affect the Nashville Predators’ free agency strategy? | On the Forecheck
In the span of a few days the Preds have off-loaded traded P.K. Subban, extended qualifying offers to Colton Sissons and Rocco Grimaldi, and cut ties with Wayne Simmonds, Cody McLeod, and Zac Rinaldo. Roman Josi needs an extension, but the roster space is cleared up and there’s money in the organization’s pocket just in time for free agency.

Matt Duchene might be the endgame, but there are other options out there for the Preds and Nick’s got the breakdown for just how they might approach the scrum of free agents come July 1st.

Former Predators forward Ryan Hartman may not know he’s been traded | The Tennessean
It’s been a weird few days for Ryan Hartman. It caps off a weird year of going from being worthy of a first-round pick trade, to traded for Wayne Simmonds (we won’t get into how that worked out), to traded to Dallas, to not even getting a qualifying offer from the Stars. No wonder the guy has gone off the grid.

Our prospects guru Eric is back at it, breaking down Nashville’s 2019 draft class! Everything you need to know about the organization’s newest prospects, our secret scout has it covered.

Brooks Orpik Announces Retirement After 15 NHL Seasons | NHL
Two Stanley Cups and 1,035 games next to some of the league’s best of all time is not a bad way to retire. What a career.

2019 Hockey Hall of Fame: Women’s trail blazer Hayley Wickenheiser, defenseman Seregi Zubov among inductees | CBS Sports
Hayley Wickenheiser was quiet after the announcement, which surprised most people, but it turns out she was in the middle of taking a med-school exam.

We’re not worthy.

Guide to NHL free agency: Atlantic Division | ESPN
There’s some pretty big names hitting free agency in the Atlantic Division. There’s a few that might just find a home over in the Western Conference and do quite well there.

NHL free agency 2019: Trade rumors, free agency reports, all the latest happenings in the world of hockey | CBS Sports
We’re just a hop and a skip away from free agency and the closer we get the wilder the speculation and rumors become.

I’m here for it.

As you were.

Way-too-early picks for the 2020 Hockey Hall of Fame class | ESPN
I’m also here for Jarome Iginla and Marián Hossa being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The rest of this list isn’t too bad either.

Söderberg traded to Coyotes by Avalanche | NHL
This could have been a total dumpster fire. It wasn’t, but I chuckled thinking of what could have happened here.

NHL free agency: 5 teams who should sign Matt Duchene | Puck Prose
If the Anaheim Ducks landed Matt Duchene over Nashville…I don’t know what’s worse than a blood feud, but this would definitely cause whatever is worse than a blood feud to happen.

I don’t want to tempt the fate of the universe or anything…but I also kind of want to see what would happen.
