WIN STUFF: Two Tickets to HOT SHOTS Hot Chicken, Whiskey & Bourbon Festival

If you’re like us, you like bourbon. And if you’re like us, you like hot chicken. And if you tolerate this blog, you might like the hockey team we cover.

So when the Predators host a Hot Chicken, Whiskey & Bourbon Festival at the Bridgestone Arena, we want to go. And when the team gave us some tickets to give away, we thought of you people.

“The team hosted a successful hot wing festival at the end of last summer, but we were looking for a way to change it up a bit and build on the success, so the Foundation took over the event and worked to create something to bring to Nashville that was different than anything else,” Nashville Predators Senior Director of Community Relations Rebecca King said. “At the beginning of this summer we started throwing around a few ideas, talking about some of our favorite things, and the Hot Shots Festival was born.”
Hot chicken, a Nashville staple that takes fried chicken and kicks it up a notch with secret seasonings and sauces that crank up the heat, is popular with both locals and guests visiting Music City for the first time.
“People that come to Hot Shots on Saturday have the opportunity to try hot chicken from 12 local restaurants in a single afternoon,” King said. “An accomplishment that would be fairly difficult to achieve otherwise.”
In addition to hot chicken being served, Hot Shots guests will also be treated to samples of more than 50 whiskeys and bourbons (and maybe a high gravity beer or two) from top distillers. One of the distilleries participating on Saturday is Nashville’s own Corsair Distillery.
Corsair, which first started their distillery in Kentucky due to Tennessee prohibition laws, moved back to Tennessee, the childhood home of their two founders, in 2009 when the law was amended. When Corsair arrived at its home on Clinton Street it was just the fourth licensed distillery in the state, behind the likes of famous names in Jack Daniels, George Dickel and Prichard’s (which will also be represented at Hot Shots).
