Who is Kieffer Bellows?
This season Kieffer Bellows finished fifth all time in single-season goal scoring for the US National Development Program behind Auston Matthews, Patrick Kane, and Phil Kessel with 50 in 62 games (Kessel scored 52 goals in both the 2004 and 2005 season). Just let that sink in for a minute. It goes without saying Bellows is more than capable of putting the puck in the net. His shot is hard and it’s extremely deceptive.
Bellows is much more than his shot, though. He is extremely physical and loves to throw his great size around and he also is lauded as an extremely hard worker. When it is all said and done, Bellows easily projects as a very good top six forward.
Where would Bellows fit?
If the Predators were to draft Bellows it’s pretty obvious where he would fit if he made the team. Right on the left side of Ryan Johansen. Like with Luke Kunin, Bellows and Johansen could be a match made in heaven. Bellows had a fantastic year alongside playmaker and draft eligible Clayton Keller and you have to believe that if he makes it to the NHL that he can continue that success with Johansen.
