All quiet on the Radulov front, but plenty of noise elsewhere

This morning’s links highlight an NHL star looking for another team, a Russian heading home to the KHL while Alex Radulov keeps quiet about any possible return to North America, and some covetous eyes directed at Nashville’s play-by-play man. Join in after the jump and let’s hear whether the Preds should make a move for Dany Heatley

Heatley to Leave Senators? – Silver Seven
Dany Heatley has apparently asked for a trade out of Ottawa. What do you think, Preds fans? He’s highly paid ($8 million next year), and is now asking out of his 2nd NHL team, but he is an undeniable scoring talent. Erat + prospect + picks?

Alexander Radulov’s silence puts Predators in limbo – The Tennessean
There’s still no news out of Russia from Alexander Radulov, (big shocker there) which pretty much means we shouldn’t expect him back in Nashville this fall. More worryingly, when asked about free agents Joel Ward, Vern Fiddler, and Greg Zanon, David Poile says: “We really haven’t had any conversations with any of them (recently). We’re way off in what we think they’re asking for and what we want to pay.’ I can perhaps understand a disconnect with Ward and Zanon, but Fiddler? It’s not like he had an awesome season to put himself in prime negotiating position.

It’s Offical: Kozlov to the KHL – Japers’ Rink

Viktor Kozlov has signed a 3-year deal to return to Russia and play in the KHL, joining Radulov’s team, Salavat Yulaev. The difference here is that Kozlov completed his contract with the Washington Capitals before hopping the pond.

I don’t know why Gary Bettman insists on keeping six NHL teams in Canada – TV ratings are down for the Stanley Cup Final up there, so obviously that hockey market is over-served. (hat tip to Kukla’s Korner).
