The perfect news item to life us out of our funk is a good baby story. I mean, who doesn’t like a good baby picture, some “awwwww” comments, and such.
Today, we have just that. Mike Fisher and his wife (Carrie Underwood) now have a son.

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fisher. Nashville has welcomed this power couple with open arms years ago, and Mike Fisher has been a key cog in the Predators machine for the last few seasons. Even though some of us had our doubts, Fisher has been downright splendid on special teams and came back right when both the power play and the penalty kill were struggling.
And now he has a son. Cool!
No word yet on whether or not he’s playing tonight as of yet. The Preds did not hold a morning skate. But a child being born is a good enough excuse to get out of a night in Newark, even if it was a few days ago.
