Saturday’s notes: Time for the funnies

It’s odd how some mornings when I assemble these notes, a theme naturally presents itself. But rather than the intensity of the playoff chase, or the analysis of contenders for major awards, today our around-the-league notes have a full-blown case of the Saturday morning funnies, much like the hours of cartoons I used to watch as a kid.
