The Predators are back for another matinee meetup after yesterday morning’s win against the Columbus Blue Jackets, while the Wild are looking to rebound from a couple of losses.
It’s only been four games since they last met, but the trade deadline has come and gone, with the Preds making some additions–including former long-time Wild Jason Zucker–and the Wild starting to sell. Honestly, they’re probably better off without Pat Maroon, sent to Boston for a conditional sixth-rounder; he wasn’t doing much for them.
Minnesota still brings a strong defense and power play paired with weak offense and goaltending, and Kirill Kaprizov is still lighting up the goal light, and his opponents, on the regular. The same handful of names–Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Joel Eriksson Ek–have been standout good, and have been rewarded for it.
The game, with no respect for those of us still trying to claw our way into Daylight Saving Time, starts at 2:30 Central time, and airs on TNT and Max (formerly HBO).
