The Texas Stars evened the seven-game series at one after a 3-1 win against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center Saturday night. After being pulled in game one, Texas netminder Richard Bachman turned in a solid performance, stopping 29 of the 30 shots and proving a large part of the Admirals 1-for-7 performance on the power-play

It was Milwaukee who got on the board first as the Ads scored halfway through the first period on a two-man advantage power-play goal from defensemen Teemu Laakso. As Milwaukee’s offense circled in the Stars zone Roman Josi fed the puck to Laakso in the high slot, he then fired a one-timer that blazed over the shoulder of Bachman. Gabriel Borque also notched an assist on the play.

The Stars tied the score in the second period when Philip Larsen posted a power-play goal at 12:52. Travis Morin had the puck in the near circle while settling the offense. He then ripped a shot that Larsen picked up on the rebound from inside the slot and landed the puck through goaltender Jeremy Smith‘s legs for the tying goal.

Texas took the lead for good at 15:34 when Aaron Gagon tipped the puck in across the goal line. While at even strength, Brenden Dillon took a shot and Texas crashed the net on the follow up rebound and Gagon was there in the crease to tip the puck in past Smith’s right pad.

The Stars added an insurance goal at 4:03 of the third period when Morin earned is first goal of the post-season. Raymond Sawada raced from behind the net and sent the puck back behind him to Morin who was on the left side of Admirals goalie Jeremy Smith. As Smith was following Sawada to the right, Morin had an open net and put Texas up 3-1.

The series now shifts to Austin for games three, four and five. The Admirals will be hosting viewing parties for all three games beginning with game three on Tuesday night at 7:30 at Major Goolsbys. Wednesday’s game four viewing party will be at Buck Bradley’s and then game five on Friday is back to Major Goolsbys. Don’t forget to follow the Admirals on Twitter (@mkeadmirals) and on Facebook!
