NHLPA executive director Marty Walsh believes the Arizona Coyotes should relocate if there isn’t a suitable arena plan in place by the end of the 2023-24 NHL season.
It can be true both that having professional hockey in Arizona is good (and important for the growth of the game) and that the Arizona Coyotes are currently a circus, through no fault of the players.
NHL won’t interfere with Hockey Canada inquiry
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says the league is not going to do anything to “interfere with or influence” the sexual assault case against multiple players from the 2018 Canadian world junior hockey team.
On the one hand, the NHL is not a court of law and should not serve as one. On the other hand, I feel like many people would not expect that a coworker who was in custody after being accused of a felony (in Canadian law, an indictable offense–similar principle) would get paid leave for this.
