NHL announces schedule for Games 1, 2 of Stanley Cup Playoffs 2nd Round
The National Hockey League today announced the dates for Games 1 and 2 of each 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round series. The Second Round begins Tuesday, May 2, with a doubleheader featuring the Florida Panthers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs at 7 p.m. ET and the Seattle Kraken vs. Dallas Stars at 9:3…

It begins.

Leafs win in OT, take 1st playoff series since 2004
Toronto captain John Tavares scored in overtime Saturday night, and the Maple Leafs defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 to win their first playoff series since 2004, ousting the three-time defending Eastern Conference champions.

Everyone, both the Leafs fans and everyone else, will no doubt be extremely normal about this.

‘Bruins blew a 3-1 lead’: Hockey world reacts to Panthers’ historic win over Boston
The best regular season team in NHL history is out in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the hockey world had a lot to say about it.

It’s really been a good weekend to be a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, huh.

Kraken win 1st playoff series, oust champion Avs
In just their second season in franchise history and their first postseason appearance, the Seattle Kraken won their first series, eliminating the Colorado Avalanche, the defending Stanley Cup champions, in seven games capped off with a 2-1 win on Sunday.

You might say the Kraken have been…released.

Rangers to bring experience, ‘desperation’ into Game 7 against Devils
The New York Rangers are back in the same position they were in twice in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season; Game 7 after winning Game 6 to get there. This time it’s in the Eastern Conference First Round against the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Monday.

I know who I’m hoping wins this one.

Bruins’ Bergeron to take time to reflect on retirement, played with herniated disc
Bergeron told reporters post-game that he would discuss the situation with his family. The 37-year-old centre also revealed that he was playing with a herniated disk in his back.

Can Patrice Bergeron stop playing through gruesome injuries in the playoffs? Thanks. At least he didn’t puncture his lung again…

Cheveldayoff’s words fall flat due to lack of accountability, plan for Jets’ future
Welcome to the final act of Winnipeg Jets exit meetings, where Cheveldayoff spent nearly 43 minutes engaged in a back-and-forth session with reporters that was testy at times and almost unbelievably hollow at others.

50% of teams in the NHL make the playoffs, sir. It was more than 50% before the Kraken were introduced. I don’t know that just making it in counts for that much–and yes, I know what the Preds’ record looks like.

Hurricanes will consider playing both Raanta, Andersen in 2nd round
The Carolina Hurricanes will consider using two goalies in the Eastern Conference Second Round.

If it works for them, then it works for them.
