With the 175th overall pick, the Predators added overage forward Austin Roest from the WHL’s Everett Silvertips.
The 19-year-old Roest broke out last season, more than doubling his point production as he scored 78 points, including 32 goals, in 60 games for the Silvertips. He also had four goals and an assist in their five-game playoff run, and wore an A for them this past season. It’ll be interesting to see how much of this is a jump in skill, and how much simply an effect of aging within the junior league.
