Nashville Predators select Kalan Lind 46th overall

The Nashville Predators chose forward Kalen Lind from the Red Deer Rebels with their 46th overall selection.

Lind picked up 44 points in 43 games last season in the WHL, as well as five points in the Rebels’ ten-game postseason run. He represented Canada’s U18s at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this year, managing one goal and six PIM in five games. Those PIM also plagued his WHL career; last season’s 80 PIM were down from his 2021-22 high of 93.

It won’t shock you to learn that Lind is a physical player, with a reputation for agitation. The Elite Prospects scouting reports add that he’s a smart player as well, who uses his ability and willingness to cause trouble to clear routes for his teammates and move the puck up the ice.
