Nashville Predators Play of the Month: January

We asked what you’d like to see more of here at OTF a couple days ago, and one consistent response was that people enjoyed the “Play of the Week” feature. So in order to kick-start that up once again, we’ll begin with a Play of the Month version (first, since this was a short week, and secondly, because we haven’t done this in a while).

So follow after the jump, enjoy some of the great plays from the month of January, and vote for your favorite!

The Preds have 9 home games coming up in the month of February, including Tuesday vs. the Calgary Flames, and next Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. Save some cash and get yourself some discount Nashville Predators tickets for these, or any other home game.

#1: Colin Wilson scores at Colorado

“Coast to coast like buttered toast” was how Crispy described this beauty. The Preds don’t get too many of these goals, so they’re a rare treat:

#2: J.P. Dumont scores against Phoenix

The opposite of the Wilson goal, this one came from hard work on the forecheck by Matt Halischuk and Chris Mueller, setting up a nice shot from the slot by J.P.:

#3: Shea Weber scores against Chicago

It came right after a hallmark “TV timeout standing O”, and lifted the Preds back into a tie with their division rival, setting the table for a shootout victory. Spine-tingling stuff if you were there:

#4: Pekka Rinne stops Patrick Sharp in OT

Of course, the Preds never would have made it to the shootout in that home game against Chicago were it not for a tremendous save late in overtime:

#5: Shea Weber flattens Anze Kopitar

This one set the tone early in a 5-2 pasting of the Kings in L.A., as The Captain caught Kopitar with his head down at the blueline:

So which one was your favorite?

J.P. Dumont’s goal against Phoenix 6
