Nashville Predators Trade Rumors: Conflicting reports about Scott Hartnell to Nashville
Welcome to the trade season.
Earlier today, TSN's Travis Yost reported that Scott Hartnell was likely to be a Nashville Predators before the day was over.
Predators are waiting for this Blue Jackets game to wrap up. Pending that, I believe Scott Hartnell is heading to Nashville.

Yost has been tweeting reliable information about the trade landscape all day, so it's not like this is coming out of nowhere. However, these situations are very fluid, as Yost pointed out later.
Some qualifiers:

1. Not 100% done;
2. Hartnell has a full NMC
But it's as close as it gets.
Some people who are quite good at this stuff dissent on Hartnell and Nashville being a sure thing.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Some of those people would be Sportsnet's Chris Johnston and The Columbus Dispatch's Aaron Portzline.
From what I can tell, any talk of a Scott Hartnell deal to Nashville is premature. Nothing seems imminent there.

As noted, #CBJ and #Preds have had talks regarding Hartnell, way back to Jones-Johansen trade. But told nothing is imminent ... as of now.

Now, that's not to say what Yost was hearing was false or nothing is going to happen. Things around this time change by the minute. But we may now be deescalated from "imminent" to "just keep an eye on it for now.
This is the fun of the NHL Trade Deadline. We'll keep you posted with information as we get it.
