Predators vs. Panthers 3/6/21 Preview: Less Stinky

It’s gameday…again.

Nashville Predators

Remember the time the Preds scored 7 goals but lost 4-5 to Florida? Yeah…let’s not do that again. I’m running out of things to say. It would be nice to see a bit more youth in the lineup with guys like Rem Pitlick possibly suiting up for Nashville. It’s also a little strange that Yakov Trenin has been absent for a few games and sitting in the press box. I’m sure that’s not sitting well with the young Russian…he could be playing in the playoffs for SKA St. Petersburg right now.

I’m so disappointed in how poorly the Predators are starting games. It makes me wonder why consistent poor starts remain unaddressed, and it doesn’t seem like the players or the coaching staff have any answers.

I’d really like to see Kasimir Kaskisuo in net. While he’s likely a career AHLer, the guy deserves a shot in goal today.

Florida Panthers

Aleksander Barkov had 3 assists on Thursday and Aaron Ekblad had 2 goals and 2 assists. Sergei Bobrovsky didn’t play a great game, but he did pick up a win. We could see Chris Dreidger today in net.

The Panthers are clearly firing on more cylinders than Nashville. That’s all I really have to say about them. As a reminder, the Panthers are third in the Central Division right now.

Reasons to Watch
