OTF Inaugural Handsome/60 Power Rankings

Here in Nashville, hockey fans have been given numerous blessings. The sheer amount of talent on the Nashville Predators is the highest in franchise history, and last season they made it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. While having such an outstanding hockey team certainly is a blessing, the Predators faithful have also been given one very, very good looking hockey team.

Without further ado, the staff here at OnTheForecheck have compiled the very first official Nashville Predators Handsome/60 Power Rankings. Ten of us writers ranked the beautiful gentlemen on the Predators. The players are sorted by the average ranking received among us.

Let the debate begin!

24 – Nick Bonino

Score: 22.6

#NickBonino #PittsburghPenguins #NHL #Pens #Bones #StanleyCupFinal

A post shared by Sarah (@pensfan4lfe) on

Tucker: “shame on many of my colleagues for bald-shaming Nick Bonino. Bone Saw may not have much hair, but he’s certainly better looking than Viktor Arvidsson, who I think resembles a tiny caveman.”

Sorry Tucker. Do you have any idea how many photos I had to go through of him with the Stanley Cup, in a Penguins uniform, and of him and Sidney Crosby He Who Shall Not Be Named?

23 – Scott Hartnell

Score: 21.0

Nick: “He’s low on my list because of the handsomeness of the Preds, but Hartnell has that sort of “older man attractiveness” that the young ladies love.” Furthermore, Hartnell has an extremely underrated suit game. He is consistently one of the best-dressed Predators.

22 – Austin Watson

Score: 20.4

According to Laura, some dentures would go a long way for Watson. Some teeth could vault him upwards in her rankings. Meanwhile, both Nick and Kate believe that, even with his lack of pearly whites, he has an underrated face.

21 – Tony Bitetto

Score: 19.7

Gumar 🤘🏻

A post shared by Anthony Bitetto (@abitetto7) on

Apparently I’m in the minority here, but Tony Bitetto, AKA two-bit, AKA bitcoin, is a stud. Placing him 21st is a travesty.

20 – Alexei Emelin

Score: 18.9

19 – Miika Salomaki

Score: 18.6

Many of the Predators who perform more physical jobs have been ranked lower, perhaps unfairly in Salomaki’s case. Have you seen his jawline? You could cut your hand if you slapped his face.

Also, he automatically gets bonus points for destroying Corey “literally Satan” Perry. They’re our rankings, we get to play by our rules.

18 – Matt Irwin

Score: 17.8

17 – Frederick Gaudreau

Score: 16.2

I am absolutely astonished at “Freddie Hockey” being ranked so low. Frederick Gaudreau is an absolute stud. He makes Ryan Johansen’s facial hair look like it’s as lost as the University of Tennessee football coaching search. I dare you to deny that Frederick Gaudreau doesn’t look exactly like Don John in the 1993 film adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing.

I dare you.

16 – Ryan Johansen

Score: 15.6

Today was a good day. 🐶 Swipe for #Preds and puppies ➡️

Kate: “Johansen’s hair/facial hair decisions dropped him a bunch of spots on my list.” I couldn’t have said it better. The competition is too fierce for that, Joey.

15 – Yannick Weber

Score: 14.9

🐺😋

A post shared by Yannick Weber (@yweber) on

Shaun: “Yannick Weber is highly underrated. With a wonderful accent, Caleb Followill looks, and cooking skills, he’s not just a snack, but he could make snacks.”

14 – Pontus Aberg

Score: 14.6

Ses imorgon 🙏❤️

A post shared by Pontus Åberg (@pontusaberg) on

To be honest, I wasn’t that high on Pontus. Then I took a look through his instagram. Folks, he may be criminally underrated here.

13 – Ryan Ellis

Score: 14.5

Ellis joins Watson as one of Laura’s prospects. She strongly believes that he could shoot up the ranking if he could “…reign in the beard and get some balance with the hair.”

12 – Viktor Arvidsson

Score: 14.1

Dan: “Arvidsson has a strong beard game, but both [he and Aberg] look like the nice guys who enjoy a walk in the park and a kicking the soccer ball around in the spring. Compare that to Kevin Fiala, who should be modeling watches and cologne.”

11 – Colton Sissons

Score: 12.8

Shaun: “My wife, thinks Colton Sissons is highly underrated. I would like to add that he could pass for a NASCAR driver or even a country singer.”

10 – Kyle Turris

First Place Votes: 1

Score: 12.4

9 – Juuse Saros

Score: 11.6

can you believe this man is a life saver?

A post shared by 🇫🇮 (@landeskogs) on

Rachel: “The goaltenders are underrated. I suppose it’s because they’re hidden behind masks, but both our Finnish netminders have beautiful eyes, precious smiles, and excellent hair. Saros has gorgeous eyes, and it’s obvious his big bro Pekka has given him some styling tips. It goes without saying that these are the nicest and most humble guys you could meet, but Juuse and Pekka really make me swoon. Their smiles are enough to make every female in Bridgestone notice. Look at Juuse’s beautiful eyes the next time the camera zooms in on him holding down the crease.”

8 – Mattias Ekholm (10.6)

Score: 10.6

Took him ten years but wow what a couple! #silfverwedding

A post shared by Mattias Ekholm (@matekh) on

7 – Calle Jarnkrok (10.3)

Score: 10.3

6 – Filip Forsberg

Second Place Votes: 1

Third Place Votes: 1

Score: 8.6

Shaun: “Now that Forsberg has been suspended, he has the whole ‘Bad Boy’ thing going for him as well. He’s one leather jacket away from being one of the Outsiders.”

5 – TIE between Pekka Rinne and Kevin Fiala

Pekka Rinne

Second Place Votes: 1

Score: 6.2

Kevin Fiala

First Place Votes: 1

Second Place Votes: 1

Third Place Votes: 1

Score: 6.2

Alex E:  “I had a student give a three minute speech on why he’s [Fiala] the most attractive person in the world. And it was compelling.”

Kevin also scores bonus points for his own teammates congratulating his fashion choices. Take it away, Nick Bonino:

4 – P.K. Subban

Third Place Votes: 2

Score: 5.9

Cutest interview ever? Cutest interview ever. #NHLAllStar #Preds

A post shared by Nashville Predators (@predsnhl) on

The player who has his own website partially dedicated to his style is naturally going to end up in the top four. To call P.K. iconic would be like calling water wet: everyone knows it.

3 – Craig Smith

First Place Votes: 1

Second Place Votes: 2

Third Place Votes: 1

Score: 5.4

Craig Smith is far removed from his “Honey Badger” days, but his smile has only gotten brighter. Add in the great Wisconsin flow, and he looks like he acted in Miracle.

2 – Mike Fisher

First Place Votes: 2

Second Place Votes: 3

Third Place Votes: 2

Score: 3.4

Although he has yet to formally sign a contract, Mr. Underwood is practicing with the team again, so he qualifies for these rankings. Mike has the smile, the charm, and the fashion savvy to be #1 on any other team in the league.

Unfortunately for him, the Predators’ happen to also employ…

1 – Roman Josi

First Place Votes: 5

Second Place Votes: 2

Third Place Votes: 3

Score: 1.9

Really, if this surprised you, you probably voted to make Blake Shelton People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” Derek Zoolander probably has posters of Roman Josi in his apartment, and for good reason. From the charm to the fashion to that smile, Roman Josi has it all. In fact, along with losing the cup to Pittsburgh, Roman Josi’s engagement comes in as the #2 saddest moment in Nashville sports for 2017.

We dont always act smart but when we do, we look stupid
