P.K. Subban Signs Deal With Adidas Hockey

In an announcement today, P.K. Subban signed a deal with Adidas Hockey to become another one of their featured athletes, joining other NHL players Connor McDavid, Brent Burns, and Tyler Seguin.

Outside of the NHL, P.K. Subban is joining a select group of global superstars that transcend the barriers of between sports. This list includes names such as FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, FC Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller, the Houston Rockets’ James Harden, and the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers. Joining this group of names truly increases Subban’s global marketability.

Furthermore, Adidas has been making waves in the fashion industry, which aligns itself well with Subban’s interests. In fact, maybe this deal was telegraphed a little bit in a Subban interview with Chris Mason. Here Subban is not only just wearing the Adidas sweatshirt, but also wearing a pair of Yeezy shoes, the fashion line that Adidas has collaborated on with Kanye West.

Not only does this deal mean that P.K. Subban’s global marketability is going to soar, but the Nashville Predators as a whole will be getting a lot more attention. It’s good for Subban, it’s good for Nashville, and it’s good for hockey.
