Patric Hornqvist: A Crowdsourced Retrospective

Hey, you know what’s been almost forgotten with all the craziness of the last week? Patric Hornqvist is no longer a member of the Nashville Predators, and we haven’t had a chance to give him a proper goodbye. As we did with David Legwand, I want to open the floor for all of you to share your favorite highlights, moments, and stories about #27.

We all know how an 18-year-old from Sollentuna, Sweden was passed over 229 times before being drafted by the Preds in 2005. Mr. Irrelevant went on to play more than 300 games and record 216 points, having the distinction of being one of just four players to crack the 30-goal mark for the franchise. Horny was one of Smashville’s most beloved children, and we all are going to miss him dearly.

I’ll start things off with the last goal he scored as a Predator:

Tied in the final minute of a wild, back-and-forth game against a bitter rival, Hornqvist got himself to the front of the net (naturally) to slam home the eventual game winner. On national television no less. What a way to go out.

Good luck in Pittsburgh, old friend!
