Predators Acquire Brian Boyle from Devils

The Nashville Predators have acquired forward Brian Boyle from New Jersey. The Preds will send their 2019 second round draft pick to the Devils.

Boyle, whose contract expires at the end of this season, is 34 years old and has spent time with five NHL clubs. He was a fan favorite in Tampa Bay and has served as an alternate captain in New Jersey. He has 19 points (13 goals, 6 assists) in 47 games this season.

Boyle was likely acquired for his size. At 6’6”, Boyle will be one of the tallest Predators. He has scored 6 of his 13 goals this season on the power play, so expect to see him on one of the power play units as he works his way into the lineup.

Brian Boyle is the 2018 Bill Masterton Trophy winner. A cancer survivor himself, Boyle does incredible work for cancer patients as an NHLer. Boyle provides a veteran presence for the Predators.
