Predators crowned by Kings 6-1

All good things must come to an end, and Nashville’s 10-game point earning streak came to a screeching halt tonight with a 6-1 thumping by a well-rested and talented L.A. Kings squad.

Thoughts on this one? I don’t have many. Thankfully, the Preds only play 13 back-to-back sets this season, among the fewest in the NHL. There were so many ugly moments in this one it’s tough to focus on specifics, although (since I mentioned it in the game thread), Shane O’Brien’s play behind the net which lead to L.A.’s 5th goal was particularly egregious, he just hesitated far too long and got his pocket picked.

Bottom line, the Kings jumped the Preds right from the start, just as I feared this afternoon. Do we blame the Game Operations staff for returning to the Jay-Z intro? Sure, sounds good enough for me…
