Preds Recall Frederick Gaudreau

Just ahead of Game 3 in Nashville tomorrow afternoon, the Preds have recalled forward Frederick Gaudreau from Milwaukee.

From the Preds website:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Saturday that the club has recalled forward Frederick Gaudreau from Milwaukee (AHL).

Gaudreau has appeared in nine games for the Predators this season, and earned one assist, fired eight shots on goal and recorded a +1 rating. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 22 vs. Pittsburgh, and registered his first NHL point on Nov. 29 at Colorado with an assist.

The 23-year-old recorded 48 points (25g-23a) in 66 games for Milwaukee during the regular season. He led the team in points (4) and goals (3) in three postseason games.

Is it possible that Gaudreau could see action tomorrow? Maybe so. We mentioned on Friday that Gaudreau could be a dark horse to replace Kevin Fiala in the lineup, if Craig Smith and Pontus Aberg were not available (which they appear to not be).

Freddy has decent wheels and a nice defensive game. He wouldn’t be the worst option.
