Preview/Live Thread: Nashville Predators @ Edmonton Oilers 11/4/23

The Nashville Predators continue their road trip, which has gotten off to a very rough start, by facing the Edmonton Oilers in a dreaded Saturday matinee.

While the Oilers only have two wins on the season, that can’t be expected to last long. They have question marks in net, with Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner both posting sub-.880 save percentages so far, but they have the offensive talent to make up for a lot of shortcomings—it just hasn’t been on display yet.

Pred-killer Leon Draisatl has 13 points on the season, including four goals, but he’s the only Oiler so far with more than ten; Connor McDavid is sitting at a very human 2G/7A. When that changes, the Oilers are going to ignite.

Their power play has been decent; their penalty kill has struggled, but nothing exceptional. On paper it looks like a forgettable team, and if the Preds can capitalize on this interval of weakness that would be great.

The game airs at 2PM Central on Bally Sports South and NHL Network, with the radio call on 102.5 The Game.
