Preview: Nashville Predators vs. New York Rangers 10/21/21

Nashville Predators

Nashville picked up their first win on Tuesday against the Kings. It was an excellent game for Juuse Saros (25 saves), but we’re still waiting to see the offense turn on (or something). Filip Forsberg needs to get going, as does Mikael Granlund and Eeli Tolvanen. They’re playing very well, but the shots are simply not going in the net. Whether that’s a systemic thing or individual bad luck that just follows them from season to season…I don’t know.

Can the Predators put together another win at home and begin a win streak before they leave for a road trip?

New York Rangers

The Rangers just defeated Toronto in overtime earlier this week in a grinder of a game. They’re 2-1-1.

Their biggest strength is in net in the form of Igor Shesterkin. The young goaltender has a ton of potential and will be fun to watch in a goalie duel against Juuse Saros.

The Rangers have a lot of fun guys on their roster – and by “fun,” I mean scoring threats from all over the ice. Artemi Panarin, Alexis Lafreniere, Barclay Goodrow, Adam Fox, and Mika Zibanejad are all incredibly fun to watch but their dynamic play will surely force Nashville to stay sharp tonight.

It’s not a sure thing that he’ll dress tonight, but former Admiral and Predator Jarred Tinordi is a New York Ranger.

You might remember that the Rangers added Ryan Reaves in the offseason in order to be more tough to play against, but Reaves has not really impacted any part of the Rangers’ game.
