Update from the Predators
Just announced from the Predators:
Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Monday that the club has acquired forward Ryan Hartman and a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a first-round and fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and forward Victor Ejdsell.

The first word of this came from LeBrun, after some speculation from various NHL pundits.

Hartman isn’t a splash by any means, but he’s a decent player. However, here’s the return for Chicago:
Deal is Hartman + 5th in 2018 for 1st in 2018 + Victor Edjsell + Nashville 4th in 2018

A first round pick and a top 10 prospect (by some standards) for Hartman? Ugh. I don’t like the cost, especially if just a depth guy. At least he is young.
