Saturday’s Dump & Chase: Where Art Thou Craig?

Nashville Predators News & Notes

Predators Recall Aberg from Milwaukee | Nashville Predators
Pontus Aberg seemed like he was going to make his first NHL start when he took line rushes and then the Predators did the old switcheroo and put Eric Nystrom into the game. That’s probably for the best even though Nystrom isn’t that great. In the playoffs I’d much rather have a known quantity who is not that great than an unknown quantity who has never played an NHL game.

Norris Trophy Finalists: Doughty vs. Karlsson vs. Burns | Yahoo Sports
No Roman Josi or Shea Weber but that is hardly surprising nor can you argue against it. You have to wonder if either will ever win the Norris. It’s a good thing Josi is still young.

NHL, players association expansion draft agreement is good news for Bill Foley | Las Vegas Review-Journal
The one thing I don’t like about the rules is that a team like the Minnesota Wild (who has 5 players with No Movement Clauses) will likely be left completely untarnished as opposed to the Predators (who only have one player with a No Movement Clause.)

Brian Burke bashes NHL Draft Lottery system, wants new rules | Puck Daddy
I agree. A team like Edmonton shouldn’t get rewarded for continued failure.

2016 NHL awards finalists | USA Today
I’ve never been a big fan of the awards. They are too driven by the visibility of the players to the national market.
