As per Craig Custance of The Sporting News and John Glennon of The Tennessean, Shea Weber has been ruled out for tomorrow’s contest against the Vancouver Canucks:
Preds coach Barry Trotz is still calling Weber day-to-day. He doesn’t think Weber – who appeared to hurt his left hand or arm – will be out too long. It’s been my experience that in general, the longer the Preds take to put a timetable on an injury, the longer the player is out. But we’ll see what transpires.
Since the injury left Nashville with five defensemen, Cody Franson has been recalled from Milwaukee. It’ll be interesting to see who he’s paired up with Sunday afternoon.
After the jump, we have the text from the team’s press release…
Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Cody Franson from Milwaukee (AHL) on emergency conditions.
Franson, 22 (8/8/87), played his first game since sustaining an injury in Nashville’s Feb. 2 game vs. Phoenix last night for the Admirals, posting a goal and an assist. At the time of his injury, he ranked third among NHL rookie blueliners in goals (5), and fourth in both points (15) and assists (11), in addition to ranking first among all rookies in plus/minus (+11). The Sicamous, B.C., native has suited up for the Predators 43 times during his first season.
