Thursday’s Dump & Chase: Befuddlement

Tampa Bay has scored all of 11 more goals this season than Nashville. They have 9 players with 10+ points; the Preds have 11. They have 5 players with between 15 and 19 points; the Preds have 7, with similar numbers of players with 10-15 points. Can someone explain to me, then, how the Lightning have players with 24, 38, and 40 points while our leading scorer has 14-14–28? They have two 20+ assist players while no Pred has more than 14. Do the Preds pass less, or are some arena staffs more liberal with giving out assists? Sorry for this rant; I digress….

I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that Pete Weber is one of my favorite people in this big hockeyverse. Hearing audio from those infant days of the Predators sent chills down my spine…a lot has changed since then, but Pete’s enthusiasm is forever unwavering.

Predators: Austin Watson learns from recent NHL suspension |The Tennesseean
Watty certainly seems to have learned a lesson from his suspension last month and seems reluctant to commit further offenses. Seems at least on the surface like the Department of Player Safety was effective in this case.

What a silly query. ESPN doesn’t *really* care about hockey either way.
