I can’t think of many hockey-related achievement awards for which I would not consider David Poile a strong candidate. So well deserved, and I don’t believe at all that this is close to the last time we will see Poile at such a ceremony.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if .500 is what the Preds are without Arvy, Fil, KT, and PK (they’re 5-5-0 in their last 10), then they’re still among the class of the NHL in my book. This article has a conspicuous lack of qualifiers in that area. I’d be interested to see what the Lightning would look like without Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, Brayden Point, and either Victor Hedman or Ryan McDonagh for a few weeks.
