Tuesday’s Dump & Chase: Hockey Hangover

2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs:

Capitals proving they belong after Game 2 win against Lightning | NHL.com
That was some game, eh? The Washington Capitols are feeling it. Also, I was glad to see the goalie trip called and wish that they would call that more often (looking at you Corey Crawford). Time for Tampa Bay to check their guts and see what fire they have left.

Smashville News:

Predators GM told by players to keep roster intact for next season | NHL.com
I’m sure it was more of a suggestion. I agree with only minor changes and see what we’ve got at camp. Also, for the love of Pekka Rinne, John Tavares would not be considered a small change and we have more pressing needs. He’s not coming here folks. It will be interesting to see how much Ryan Ellis does love it in Nashville and how that translates into dollars.

Players thoughts on our early exit and the possibilities for next year. Ryan Johansen is really coming into his own as a leader.

Nashville Predators: David Poile comments on future plans for Juuse Saros | AtoZ Sports
“Nashville Predators general manager David Poile is keeping an eye toward the future in regards to the Preds’ goalie situation.” Pretty much the plan we have been discussing in the comments.

This is a throwback picture to when that behemoth Dozer was a little guy. The only new picture was from the night of Game 7 and I didn’t want people running for their torchforks.

Dallas Stars: New coach – same expectations | Sport DFW
Wow, no pressure Jim Montgomery. Get to the playoffs or we’ll blow it all up. Personally, I’d be okay if this particular group never made the playoffs. The Nashville Predators and Winnipeg Jets can help with that.

How the Winnipeg Jets built a Stanley Cup contender | The Denver Post
Apparently it’s patience and high draft picks along with a great trade deadline pick up.

Minnesota Wild Ryan Suter Reluctantly Selling Wisconsin Retreat for $4.5M | SFGate
Okay, these pictures are significantly elongated and look a little silly. This is a huge house and lot. Also, Suter apparently grows fields of corn right up to the swimming pool.

Icehockey: No more mister nice guy as Fleury looks to Game Two
We need to have Marc-Andre Fleury teach Pekka Rinne this kind of laid back approach to the playoffs. Also he could show Peks how to properly thank the goal posts so they continue to help him out.

NHL’s Slow Culture Change: Reactions Differ In Wake Of Aston-Reese Injury | Pittsburgh Hockey Now
Glaciers move faster than NHL culture changes. I can’t believe that Tom Wilson hasn’t reached out to Zach Aston-Reese to apologize for breaking his jaw……oh wait, yes I can.

Super Slow Mo: Playoffs Week 5 | NHL.com
Hi Filip Forsberg – Nice look! Oooooooo, the Troll. Hi Ryan Johansen and Predators locker room. Hi Roman Josi – looking good as always! Hi Austin Watson – Nice hit! Hi Viktor Arvidsson – Bet you can’t do that again! Hi Filip Forsberg – I know you can do that again! Hi Scott Hartnell – Hey that man has a family! Hi Juuse – Oops and oops again. Young Finland defenseman Heiskanen eyes NHL | ABC News
Surely he’d rather come to Nashville than Dallas – Dallas is going to get blown up (see above). MOAR FINNS! ALL THE FINNS!
