Maple Leafs’ Auston Matthews unsure if he’ll sign new deal before season | Sportsnet
“I don’t know if I’ll sign a new contract before the season or not,” Matthews told NHL.com’s Dave Hogg Sunday. “I’m not really involved with the talks. That’s something being dealt with by my agents and team management. They’ve told me that it will get done when it gets done, and that’s fine.”

So help me out with something here. Pekka Rinne is always going to be dinged for his “inconsistent” play in the playoffs (this is me putting it mildly), and quite frankly I’m fine with that.

Fantasy NHL – Sleepers and late-round picks for the 2018-19 season | ESPN
I’m starting to realize that a solid 60% of ESPN’s hockey coverage is solely dedicated to Fantasy. Either way, here’s some sleeper picks for you Fantasy nuts. I’m not really sure how James Neal (a guy who literally scores over 20 goals every year) constitutes as a “sleeper”, but whatever. Perhaps I’m being nit-picky.

Red Wings, Blackhawks paying for past glory | TSN
“The Red Wings and Blackhawks never appeared to know when to turn the faucet off. Now both look like they’re heading into a time where things will get worse before they get better.”
