Rookie defenseman Samuel Girard scored his first NHL goal tonight against the Dallas Stars!
With a little more than three minutes gone in the 2nd period, Girard ripped one high blocker side by Ben Bishop.

This made it a 1-1 game. Then a few minutes later, Girard assisted on Filip Forsberg’s go-ahead goal. The Predators lead the Stars 2-1 with nine minutes left in the period.
With Roman Josi not playing and Yannick Weber leaving the game after a dirty hit by Martin Hanzal in the first period, the Predators needed the rest of the blueline to step up. Girard did that.
