We’ve got postgame analysis and a look at the Game 1 question coming up later this morning! In the meantime, these links:
Utah owner Ryan Smith divulges name and uniform plans
Utah’s NHL team will use a March Madness-style bracket to determine a name and share some uniform similarities with the NBA’s Jazz.
Some of these names are better than others.
Make good choices, Utah.
Georgiev ‘proves people wrong,’ leads Avs’ G2 win
After giving up seven goals in Game 1, Avalanche goaltender Alexandar Georgiev responded in a big way Tuesday night as Colorado evened its first-round series with Winnipeg.
The Avalanche have scored 11 goals in two games on Connor Hellebuyck. This is terrifying if Hellebuyck is healthy.

Probably not, uh, the exact triumphant homecoming he was hoping for.
Kings’ Talbot may see Edmonton as ‘a special place,’ but he won’t get any love from fans
Cam Talbot was destined to tend goal in this Round 1 series. Yet, fate has him at the wrong end of the rink, the third Los Angeles Kings goalie in as many springs with a mandate to shut down Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and the Edmonton Oilers.
It’s been a long decade for Oilers goalies.
Bennett exits with injury as Panthers take 2-0 lead
Florida forward Sam Bennett, who scored 20 goals in the regular season, left early in the second period of his team’s 3-2 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night with an upper-body injury, as the Panthers took a 2-0 series lead.
Not great.
Rangers’ Panarin goes unpenalized for high hit on Capitals’ Oshie
In Tuesday’s Stanley Cup playoff game between the Rangers and Capitals, there were likely differing opinions after Washington’s T.J. Oshie took a big hit up high from New York’s Artemi Panarin.
Every time this season I’ve said I’m okay with a penalty called on a Preds player for a high hit, it’s been with the hopes that the NHL is cracking down on head contact–even accidental head contact.
Probably shouldn’t have had those hopes.
‘Struggling’ Ovechkin still pointless, Caps trail 2-0
After a Game 2 loss in which his star captain was held scoreless again, Capitals coach Spencer Carbery, facing a 2-0 series deficit after a 4-3 defeat, told reporters that Alex Ovechkin is “struggling” against the matchups the Rangers are presenting.
Can they get Nicklas Bäckström a bionic body or something for this series?
