The Milwaukee Admirals trail the Coachella Valley Firebirds 0-2 in their series, and the mood’s probably a bit worse since this article was written (after Game 1), but it’s still great to see the opportunity the Preds’ future mainstays are getting.

After getting out to a white-hot start at the men’s World Championships, Team USA imploded, losing in overtime in the semifinal and then in the bronze-medal game. Former Pred Rocco Grimaldi helped them get it to overtime at all.

Canada rallied for a 5-2 victory over Germany in the final of the ice hockey world championship for its record 28th world title and second in three years.

Canada, meanwhile, took home the gold, in the most boring outcome possible. I would’ve loved to see Germany pull it off somehow, but all of Canada would probably have caught fire.
